Massage
As there are different types of massage available in the South Bristol area, it's helpful to have more information to enable you to choose what is best for you. At Wellness with Wend, we offer Body Massage.
What is Body Massage?
Body massage also known as 'Swedish Massage' and ‘Classic Massage’, involves massage oil and a variety of different techniques, ranging from slow, fast, sporadic strokes, all with the aim of relaxing the muscles.
The treatment typically starts slow and light, and builds to include deeper pressure, with some faster rhythmic techniques, before returning to relaxing and slower techniques to finish.
Treatments can be 30 minutes, including; back, shoulders, neck and chest, or a full body for 60 minutes, which includes, legs, back, shoulders, arms, neck and chest.
A full body massage relaxes the body as a whole, encouraging a flow around the body, promoting relaxation of the muscles and the mind. The result is a calmness of body and mind.

To gain the most from your massage, it would be preferable to refrain from eating for three hours prior to your massage, or eat a light meal. It's also advisable to refrain from alcohol consumption.
Otherwise, leave plenty of time for traveling and parking, so you can relax into your massage with ease.
What should I expect?
A consultation is completed prior to the start of the treatment. Once complete you are left in private to undress (leaving your under pants on) and get comfortable on the massage couch. During the treatment you will be covered with a large towel, while only exposing the part of the body being treated. A full body massage typically includes, the back, legs, arms, abdomen, shoulders, chest and neck, but this can be tailored to suit you and will be discussed during your consultation.
